Memorial Day Weekend

Amber: Summer rules!!!!

Chloe: We love the pool!  This Memorial Day was chilly, so we had almost the entire swim club to ourselves.

Amber: Yeah, man.  It rocked.

Kyra: I found it restful.

Kyra: Really restful.

Chloe: Not us, we were busy... playing in the little pool and swimming like mermaids...

Amber: Playing "keep away" with the ball.

Chloe: That was supposed to be kickball.

Amber: No, YOU were playing kickball.  I was playing HOLD THE BALL AND RUN AWAY.

Chloe (rolls eyes): We were even able to break rules about proximity to the slides and lifeguard stands because no one was around.

Amber: Yeah, we were giving Mommy fits.

Kyra: Well, I enjoyed the chance to rest... and talking with this man.  I swear, he should be on television.  He does this bit about "num-nums" that is a RIOT.  I was peeing myself.

Literally.

Just a Word to the Wise...

Chloe: If you start cutting off your hair while in the art area, Daddy will absolutely make you pay for your professional haircut out of your piggybank money... but if, instead, you explain to Mommy that you just want to try a new look, she will pay for it.

I learned this one the hard way.

Frankie's Party... and a Little Sibling Rivalry

Amber: We had so much fun at Frankie's birthday party on Saturday.  Swings, bounce house, toys, CAKE.  It was awesome.

Chloe: Yeah, it was terrific!  Frankie's a cutie.

Amber: A little young for you, don't you think?

Chloe: I meant for you.

Amber: I'm still trying to decide between Noel and Ethan.  I have my hands full.

Chloe: Right.

Kyra: What about me?

Amber: Yeah, I'm sure the way you slept thru his entire party really made you seem attractive.

Chloe: I especially liked how the grandmoms all tried to abduct you and the dads all warned the moms not to get any ideas while they held you.

Kyra: I'm pretty charming.

Amber: I won't consider you a threat until you get that projectile vomiting thing completely under control.

Chloe: Oh, calm down.  You're both pretty.

Amber (glares at Kyra)

Kyra (thinks about puking on Amber)

Chloe: ANYWAY.  Back to the party.  We had a lot of fun with the toys Miss Monica provided. We were playing so nicely together with the sidewalk chalk that Mommy was going to come over to take a picture, but by the time she got there, we were fighting over a toy.

Amber: Yup.  Mommy took a picture of the fight (above) instead of breaking it up.  She said that's what moms of multiples do and then she went back to her wine.

Chloe: What spectacular parenting.

On the Absence of Snow Leopards

Chloe: We had a great time at the Cape May Zoo last week with Aunt JoJo, Uncle Fuzz, PattyAnne, Aunt Patty, and Mommy.

Amber: We sure did!

Chloe: Even though there were no bears, snow leopards, tigers, or giraffes, we still love you, Cape May Zoo.

Amber: We forgive you, Cape May Zoo.

Chloe: Even though we drove all that way...

Amber: ...it was really far...

Chloe: We're cool with it.

Amber: We totally are.

Chloe:  We're a little pissed off about the snow leopards.

Amber: Yeah, your website is misleading.

Chloe: I'll keep bringing it up to Mommy.

Amber: Absolutely.  She might forget about how pissed we are.

Chloe: Not on my watch.

Mommy Post: Mother's Day Weekend

Mommy: On Friday, Kyra and I joined Chloe and Amber at school for a Mother's Day tea, complete with a craft project.  Note to teachers: asking moms to manage glitter ain't a treat.

K and I sprung the big girls early from school and they enjoyed their first dip in the pool for the season... and after driving me crazy all day, they hung out during the evening with Daddy who sent me to the movies (blissfully) alone.  (I departed from most of my friends' Mother's Day weekend selection of Gatsby and with Tony Stark instead.)

On Saturday, I got the hair cut pictured above, also (blissfully) alone.  Yesterday, we had a great time out for brunch with Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop...

...even though Kyra had to stick to bottles.  Chloe and Amber enjoyed the buffet and making me take them to the bathroom multiple times.  By rights, I should have had three mimosas since I have three kids, but I stuck with two since I am responsible.  :-)

Happy Mother's Day, everyone!  (Especially to my Mom - aka Grams and Ed's Mom - aka Mom-Mom)

New Fashions!

 Chloe: Grams is the best!

Amber: The best!

Chloe: She sent us awesome new outfits for McKenna and Katie.

Amber (extending her arms ala "Guess How Much I Love You"): She loves us THIS MUCH.

Chloe: She sure does.  I love McK's new riding outfit, but Mommy said that the hat will kill her.

Amber: What do you mean?

Chloe: I don't know.  She just kept saying, "I COULD DIE FROM THIS HAT."

Amber: Mommy is so weird.

Chloe: I know.

Baby's First Trip to the Outlets

Kyra: I had so much fun yesterday!  Mommy took me to the outlets with Aunt JoJo (I'm her namesake) and Sam - one of my godmothers.  We had lunch, strolled through the shops and I got a new bathing suit so that I'm all ready for Memorial Day Weekend!  I was so tuckered out after such a busy day.
