Finally, Easter Morning

Easter Bunny: I'm finally getting around to posting the pictures from Easter morning... Each child was treated to some yummy things to eat, a special toy, and a matching bathing suit - something their mother would have to have bought anyway...  :-)

Amber: Yay!  The Easter Bunny must have seen our Halloween picture and realized how much I love Tinkerbell!  I have been sleeping with her every night and can't wait to wear my new bathing suit at the pool!

Chloe: Elsa!  At long last!  I can't believe the Easter Bunny was able to find an Elsa doll, even though Mommy couldn't find one anywhere!

Chloe: We were so excited that we just had to model our new suits... and when Kyra finally got up, she was excited to see her take, too:

Kyra: I have no idea what this is all about, but I love this fish!  Happy Easter!

The Cat in the Hat!

Chloe: Last week, Mommy took Amber and I to see The Cat in the Hat at the Arden Theatre DOWNTOWN.  We were in the big city to attend the theatre!

Amber: We were so excited and we drew these pictures to get ready.

Chloe: We couldn't believe how close we were to the action - Mommy got us front row seats!  We were practically on the stage!

Amber: Yeah... that kind of freaked me out just a little.

Chloe: Like when the cat balanced on the ball with all that stuff - did you think it would fall on us?  Or when he drove the bike down the stairs right next to you?  Or when Thing 1 and Thing 2 were running around and being all crazy?

(Amber's eyes get big, just remembering)

Amber: Yeah, there was SO MUCH!  But, it was awesome - that cat is a rock star.

Chloe: Sally was my favorite - I want to be Sally for Halloween!  Now I just need to get Daddy on board because I know the perfect outfit for him...

And Now: "What's Amber Doing?"

After Kyra's blessing on Sunday, I loved looking through the photos from the day.  I kept laughing when I found all these different photos of Amber just doing her own thing... so now, I present, "What's Amber Doing?"

Amber: No one's looking at me... la la la... keep your eyes on the baby... just going to grab these flowers... there's nothing to see here, folks..."

Amber: Oh, man.

Amber: I'm hungry.  I was told there would be lunch.

Amber: No one will notice if I just take one...

Kyra's Blessing

Kyra: The other day, we spent a lovely time outside and everyone said a bunch of things while I wore a very fancy dress.  My sisters did something about putting sand from one bottle to the other to represent the fact that we all influence each other's lives forever, but stay our own true selves as well.

I'm not totally sure what that means.

Mommy and Daddy promised to take good care of me and so did my godmothers, Samantha and PattyAnne.  Grams, Grampa, Mom-Mom, and Pop-Pop took turns reading a blessing to me.  A nice lady named Reverend Paula read a bunch of very sweet things about sisters and feeling the spirit of God in us at all times and then she made Sam and PattyAnne rub me with lavender.

And then she poured water on my head.  I gave them all the stink eye, don't you worry about that.

Then, we all went out to eat!  It was very fun and here are some of my favorite photos from the day.

A note from Mommy: the nice thing about doing things in a non-traditional way is that everything is and feels intentional.  At the end of the day, Ed gave me a big hug and asked me if I'd had a nice day.  I heaved a big sigh of satisfaction and said, "I had a GREAT day."

Big Girl!

Kyra: YUM!  It's about time I got my own fork.  I may be THE baby, but I'm no longer A baby.  Sheesh!

Spring!

Kyra: It's finally spring time!  I'm so happy that my ability to walk around and be big has coincided with some warmer weather.  They finally let me out of the stroller at Smith Playground last weekend and we had a blast!  Mommy and Aunt Rachel took us to brunch and then we spent a nice, relaxing afternoon in the Smith playhouse and park before heading off for some ice cream.  Here are some of my favorite photos from the day!

Kyra: Co-Co!  Co-Co!  Co-Co!
