Frankie's Party!

 Chloe: So, on Saturday, we went to a really awesome birthday party.

Amber: It really was fun.

Chloe: Yeah.  It was for Frankie's first birthday - he's Mommy and Daddy's friends' baby and it was a great time.  His Mommy and Daddy had a bounce house and lots of toys and swings and popcorn and food.

Amber: And they let us run all around and then Mommy got in the bounce house and did flips!  It was off the hook, yo.

Chloe: Totally.

 

Chloe: One of my favorite parts was this big bucket that was filled with toys... you were allowed to play with everything in there!  I really liked this hat.

 

Amber: I liked seeing other babies.  This is Ethan.

Chloe: He is so cute!  He is Gretchen's baby.  We're allowed to marry him, I think.

Amber: The way I see it, I should get to pick between Frankie and Ethan.  You're too old for them.

Chloe (glares): Yeah, well, at least I know enough to get out of the way of a speeding horseshoe.

Head Wear

Amber: When I'm finished eating, I like to put my bowl on my head.

Chloe: I know Mommy really likes it when you do that.

Amber: Does she?

Chloe (plotting to be favorite daughter): DEFinitely.  But, next time, do it while the bowl is still full.

Amber (nodding): Noted.

SUPER SAMURAI POWER RANGERS

 

Amber: Wow. Okay, let's see.  A matching sweatsuit, a scarf crisscrossed over your chest, a pair of Princess snow boots, an oversized tooth brush and a snarky face.  

I give up.  

What the hell is this?

Chloe: I'M A POWER RANGER.

Amber: Of course you are, darling.

Making Music at the Please Touch Museum

 Amber: Dancing is one of my best things.  Daddy said I have a lot of rhythm.

Chloe: He said I have knocked knees.

Amber: You do.

Chloe (glares).

 Chloe: I like to MAKE the music.  Daddy and I had a great time using the instruments during the jazz performance... and afterward, I met the guy with the saxophone and checked out the buttons.  I am very interested in saxophones.

Amber: I liked to make music with instruments, too!

Chloe: Those are Mommy's pain pills.

Amber: Yup - that's how I know I'll always have access to my instruments.  Home Girl won't be leaving these at home.  You have to give that stick and drum back.

Chloe (glares.again.).

Chloe's First Job

 

Chloe: This was AWESOME!  I got to drive a Septa bus just like Pop-Pop!  I LOVE the Please Touch Museum!!!!!!

 

Please Touch Museum: the Aqua Exhibit

 Amber: Special thanks to the people at Aqua for sponsoring an awesome section of the Please Touch Museum.  Chloe and I had a great time!

 Chloe: Yeah, I think this was my favorite... actually, we hit this exhibit twice it was so good!

 Amber: I had trouble reaching the water...

 Amber: ...but, I was definitely well-prepared for it.

Chloe: Daddy liked it, too!

Amber: This was definitely better than the Alice in Wonderland thing.

Chloe: Too 'cary!

Amber: Yeah.  Mommy's a little ghoulish, don't you think?

Chloe: I'm beginning to... I mean, she spends a lot of time watching Supernatural.

Amber: Exactly.

Uncle Evan, Aunt Miranda and the Search for Pancakes. And fashion.

 Amber: This man said we were going to get pancakes, but I don't have any pancakes.

Chloe: That's Uncle Evan.

Amber: Ok... where are the pancakes?

Chloe: Be patient.

Amber: Yeah, that's not really my thing.

Chloe: Me neither.  My thing is FASHION.

Amber: As evidenced by the zebra print dress paired with the polka dotted and lady bug-themed gardening hat.

Chloe: Aunt Miranda likes my hat.

Amber: Well, they're all crazy out there in California.

What's Quinoa?

 Chloe: What are you eating?

Amber: It's quinoa with raisins.

Chloe: What's quinoa?

Amber: I don't know.  Mommy gave it to me.

 Chloe: It's pretty good.  Kind of like oatmeal.  

Amber: Yeah, I like it.  She made some with tomatoes and avocado and corn and that was really yummy, too.

Chloe: That sounds gag.

Amber: No, it was yummy.  I hope she makes it again.

Chloe: Good job with that spoon, by the way.

Amber (beaming): Why, thank you.

Chloe: I think you have quinoa in your cleavage, though.

Amber: I hate it when that happens.

Yay, Aunt Diane!

Amber: On Sunday, we got all dressed up to go out to brunch to celebrate Aunt Diane's promotion!  I'm not sure what that means, but I'm all about brunch.

Chloe: It means that she was recognized for all her hard work and gets more money to spend on us.

Amber: Hot.

Chloe: Yes.  I just hope she doesn't have too many new responsibilities that will interfere with our beach time this summer.

Amber: That's true - that woman is always on the move!

Chloe: True.  She's a globe-trotter... but she is always thinking of us.  It was so nice of her to bring us these beautiful dolls from her latest trip.  I named mine Lolly.

Amber: I named mine Amy. Which is a real name.

Chloe: Stuff it, Amber.
