Baby's First Bubble Bath

Whoot! We've entered a new phase of babydom... now that her belly button is all healed up, Chloe can take real baths in her big girl tub. It came with a little baby hammock so that an infant can be in the warm water, with their head supported. She was lounging with one leg overboard, just chilling. When she's old enough, baby's first spa day is sure to follow.

PS. I weighed her today and my girl is up to 8lbs, 1.3oz.!!

Chloe Post: Baby's First Happy Hour

Mommy said she was really excited to get out of the house and Daddy said he'd had a long day at work and "needed a beer." I'm not sure what all the excitement was about... Local 44 seemed like a good place for me to sleep while Mommy and Daddy indulged and spent time with some friends. Here I am with Aunt Diane and Uncle John. Sleeping. Like I do.

Note from Mom: She's getting so big - I weighed her on Thursday and she was up to 7 lbs, 12.9 oz!!

Lunch Date

Before my parents had to head home to NC, Chloe and I had a lunch date with them and my dad's sister, Sue. Although Chloe slept the entire way there, all through lunch, and then all the way home, it was a really nice outing at the King George II Inn in Bristol.

Here's our snapshot from the day!

Fashion Plate

Yesterday, we went visiting to Aunt Joanne and Uncle Craig's house (Chloe's great aunt and great uncle) for a very yummy dinner. Of course, we had to dress her up for her social outing! I love this beautiful sweater from Aunt Gretchen and these adorable booties... but Daddy was convinced they are too big for her. Daddy knows nothing about shoes.

"What size do you wear?"

"Well, I wear a size 6, but a 7 feels so good, I buy a size 8."

Chloe Post - A Reflection on Grandparents

Typically, I mostly hang around with the Blonde Lady and the Brown Man, but lately there have been some other big people who have come around to make cooing noises at me, too. The ladies call themselves "Grams" and "Mom-Mom" and have both privately promised to "spoil me rotten," whatever that means. They look happy when they say it, though, so I'm assuming I will like it. They bring presents that I don't quite understand, but the Blonde one always looks happy when she sees them, so I guess she likes them.

These ladies are often accompanied by two other big people: "Grampa" and "Pop-Pop," who mostly look confused about how small I am, but very happy at the same time. I think they've heard about the "spoil me rotten" plans, but don't look too bothered by it. I have to file this away for future reference, because I'm pretty sure there is an angle to be worked... at some point when I'm able to be awake more than an hour at a time.

In any case, all of these new people seem to like me an awful lot, so I'm happy that I got to spend time with all four of them yesterday. Happy Valentine's Day to Grams, Grampa, Mom-Mom, and Pop-Pop!!! xoxoxoxo, Chloe

Edit from Mom: "Blonde Lady and Brown Man? Where does she get this stuff? We sound like a crime show from the mid-80s."

Gotta Get Down to Swingtown... or Not

"Hmm... I am feeling a bit fussy. Perhaps I will take a swing and see if that relaxes me."

"I DO NOT WANT TO SWING RIGHT NOW."

Update

1. Chloe still does not like baths.
2. Adults should be able to anticipate when the pacifier will fall and prevent it from happening. Or as Ed has suggested "we need a chin strap for that damn thing."
3. She has regained her birth weight and then some! 6 lbs, 12.5 oz yesterday at the pediatrician! Whoot.

Busy Daddy

See, the thing is that when Ed and Chloe are sleeping together, they look SO CUTE, that I must take a photo... but I've heard from my disgruntled husband that his co-workers are viewing the blog and calling him "Lazy Daddy."

LOL

"There are no pictures of me building the bassinette! Or feeding her! Or changing a diaper!"

But, you better believe that he does all those things and more! And I have proof:

Advice from Chloe
