New Digs

Chloe: I was really confused when we pulled into a parking lot and I saw a yellow car outside my window which looked just like Grampa's at the same moment you said you saw a car outside your window that had a Gator on it like Grams' car.

Amber: I know - it was totally surreal.

Chloe: What's surreal?

Amber: It was like a Dali painting, but with less clocks.

Chloe: What?

Amber: Nevermind.

Chloe: ANYWAY.  Mommy said that we should just go up to the door and knock and see who answered.

Amber: It was Grampa!  How did he get in there?

Chloe: Mommy said they moved to Delaware to be closer to us!

Amber: That's cool!  I especially liked how Grams has mattresses so we could stay overnight sometime and Grampa set up a sprinkler for us to run in.

Chloe: Me, too. Mommy said that one day she could ditch us there with Grampa and she and Grams could hit the outlets in Rehobeth, but Grampa said no.

Amber: What a wimp!  We would behave!

Chloe: I probably wouldn't.

Amber: Yeah, me neither.

Kyra: Who are these people again?

Ten Reasons Kyra is Awesome

Kyra: Here are all the reasons that Mommy absolutely adores me:

1) I'm fantastically attractive.
2) I actually hold on when she's carrying me (unlike Amber).
3) I never refuse to eat my dinner (unlike Chloe).
4) I never throw anything on the floor (unlike both of them).
5) I've never pooped in the tub (hello, both of them).
6) When I poop on someone, it's normally Daddy.
7) I never complain about shopping in the stores Mommy likes or watching the shows Mommy likes or listening to the radio station Mommy likes.
7) Pretty much everything Mommy does is perfectly fine with me.
8) I'm engaged on Mommy's level - when she talks to me, I look at her and smile instead of watching television.
9) I don't ask for new toys every time we go out.
10) I've never even heard of the American Doll store.

Four Day Weekend!

Amber: Oh my!  What a four day weekend!!

Chloe: We had SO much fun!

Kyra: Monday sucks.

Amber: Totally... well, you're the oldest, Chlo Chlo - do the rundown.

Chloe: Okay, here goes:  Thursday, we went to the pool and we CLOSED IT DOWN.  We didn't get home until almost 11!  We were up crazy late!  We were swimming, barbecuing, laughing - it was awesome.  On Friday, we did errands with Mommy, packed up our toys, and hit the highway to make it to Sea Isle City!  That means DIANE and BEACH - my two favorite words.  Mommy took us to the park when we got there and then we got water ice.  Saturday, Daddy arrived on the bus and we spent the whole day at the beach!  Sunday, we went back to the beach again while he took care of Kyra and napped.  We were digging and playing in the sand and eating ice cream - it was incredible.

Amber: I am brown as a coconut.  I love summer!

Kyra: No one gave me ice cream, but other than that, it was good.

Chloe: Well, there's always next time.

Happy Fourth!

We love America and independence and hot dogs and days off and  the Katy Perry song, "Firework" and going to the pool and barbeques and days off and freedom from the tyranny of bedtime!

Happy Fourth!

Thumbs, Toes, and Elephants

Kyra: This is an exciting week.  I discovered my thumb...

...and my foot.  Mommy said something about having another foot, but I haven't found that one yet.  I'm not in a rush, though.  I figure, "just chill - wait for the universe to present another foot."

I also need to hold onto this elephant because it's my MINE.

(Chloe, off camera): It used to be mine...

(Amber, off camera): ...and then it was mine...

Kyra: Yeah, well, I'm not talking about USED TO.  And keep your feet off my mat.

Amber at the Pool

Amber loves being at the pool... she loves to play in the tiny pool; she loves to slide down the slide and have me catch her in the big pool; she loves the snack bar; she loves seeing her peeps; most of all, she loves the attention she gets as she is trying to learn to swim.  In fact, she is far braver than her big sister when it comes to mastering this skill, so in her honor, we have a whole post of Amber at the Pool.  Enjoy!

Kyra: HELP ME

Kyra: HELP!  Mommy said she wants to eat me!

Chloe (off camera): That's just what she says when she tickles us.

Kyra: Are you sure?  She looked me right in the face and said, "I want to eat this baby, yes I do!" She sounded deranged!

Amber (off camera): Don't worry - she has never successfully eaten either of us.

Chloe (off camera): Yeah, you're fine.

Chloe (off camera, to Amber): Nice to have the focus off us for awhile, isn't it?

Amber (off camera, to Chloe): Totally.  Last week, I thought for sure Mommy was going to finally eat my legs.

Chloe (off camera, to Amber): Yeah, she's been gunning for those.

Amber (off camera, to Chloe): Kind of interesting that she nicknamed Kyra, "little chicken," don't you think?

(Chloe and Amber snicker, meanly.)

Kyra: Guys?  You still there?  What's going on?

Chloe (off camera): Nothing - you're good.

Amber (off camera): Yeah, no worries, kid.

Finally Father's Day!

Chloe: Well, we're back - Mommy had some technical difficulties, so we are just now sharing photos from Father's Day.

Amber: Geek Squad, she's not.

Chloe: Yeah, but we'll forgive her... we had a great Father's Day - we took Daddy and Pop-Pop out to brunch.

Amber: Mommy said that next year, Grampa can come with us, but I don't know what she's talking about.

Chloe: Hmm... I have no idea, either.  Anyway, we had lots of yummy food...

 Kyra: I had formula.

Kyra: Mommy kept showing me this drink which looked really yummy... but all I got was formula.

(Chloe and Amber exchange glances.)

Amber: Yeah, it sucks about that.

Chloe: Sorry, kid.

(Kyra glares at Chloe and Amber.)

Chloe: After brunch, we got to go to Ronnie's Power Rangers birthday party!  It was AWESOME.

Amber: It was overwhelming.

Chloe: It was AWESOME.

Amber: The cake was awesome.

Kyra: Again.  I had formula.

(Chloe and Amber exchange glances yet again.)

Chloe: Yeah, we keep walking right into that one.

Amber: Sorry, Kyra.

Chloe: The best part was meeting the Red Ranger!!

Kyra: I have no idea what any of those words mean.

Amber: Yeah, I'm with the little chicken on this one... what are we supposed to be doing right now?

Chloe and Daddy: It.is.awesome.....!
